We received a clearance to 'descend so as to cross 40 southwest of atl at and maintain 12000', 1-2-thousand.' I read back clearance, then at 18400' controller asked us our altitude. He said clearance was intended for another aircraft.

Narrative: WE RECEIVED A CLRNC TO 'DSND SO AS TO CROSS 40 SW OF ATL AT AND MAINTAIN 12000', 1-2-THOUSAND.' I READ BACK CLRNC, THEN AT 18400' CTLR ASKED US OUR ALT. HE SAID CLRNC WAS INTENDED FOR ANOTHER ACFT.
