Narrative:
I assumed responsibility for the position 12 mins prior to error. Aircraft was idented off end of runway 26R. Issued 120 degree heading till receiving tbe VORTAC proceed direct, climb and maintain 12000'. I did not realize at this time that aircraft did not tag up. I then became too involved in identing an aircraft that departed requesting IFR clearance eastbound. During my scan I realized I lost track of #1 aircraft and took steps to find it. When I was able to locate #1 aircraft, it had penetrated ZDV airspace untagged and I initiated a manual handoff which ZDV took and advised he had #1 aircraft just past another aircraft nwbnd at same altitude. At this time (just a few hours after the error) I feel my 2 biggest errors were not ensuring data tag and priority of duties in relation to handling the VFR/IFR departure going east.

DURING MY SCAN I REALIZED I LOST TRACK OF #1 ACFT AND TOOK STEPS TO FIND IT. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO LOCATE #1 ACFT, IT HAD PENETRATED ZDV AIRSPACE UNTAGGED AND I INITIATED A MANUAL HDOF WHICH ZDV TOOK AND ADVISED HE HAD #1 ACFT JUST PAST ANOTHER ACFT NWBND AT SAME ALT. AT THIS TIME (JUST A FEW HRS AFTER THE ERROR) I FEEL MY 2 BIGGEST ERRORS WERE NOT ENSURING DATA TAG AND PRIORITY OF DUTIES IN RELATION TO HANDLING THE VFR/IFR DEP GOING E.
