Narrative:
Nearing conclusion of VFR flight following nonstop flight cos-cea, ZKC handed us off to ict approach. Requested vectors to cea. Were asked if familiar, replied negative. Were handed off to mcconnell approach. Were asked if familiar, replied negative. Were informed that field closed and instructed to go back to ict approach for vectors to beech field. Ict approach recontacted, and asked for vectors to beech field, he replied that it was 2 mi at my 2 O'clock and to change frequency to 122.95 and transmit intentions. I replied that I had airport in sight on my left, changed frequency, noted traffic far to my left, extended my downwind to sequence in behind a twin which was by then turning right base to runway 18. I started my left base leg to follow him in, transmitting position and intentions, turned final, touching down as that aircraft left the active runway. Was waved in to park in front of FBO where I was parked, went inside to request fuel and 2 nights parking, then was given ride to hilton east hotel for meeting. While the airport arrangements were being made, became aware that had landed at jabara not beech, but had not felt any problem resulted, as ample distance had been allowed for other traffic, just that other traffic I was hearing was for nearby airport.

Title: SMA PLT LANDS AT WRONG ARPT.
Narrative: NEARING CONCLUSION OF VFR FLT FOLLOWING NONSTOP FLT COS-CEA, ZKC HANDED US OFF TO ICT APCH. REQUESTED VECTORS TO CEA. WERE ASKED IF FAMILIAR, REPLIED NEGATIVE. WERE HANDED OFF TO MCCONNELL APCH. WERE ASKED IF FAMILIAR, REPLIED NEGATIVE. WERE INFORMED THAT FIELD CLOSED AND INSTRUCTED TO GO BACK TO ICT APCH FOR VECTORS TO BEECH FIELD. ICT APCH RECONTACTED, AND ASKED FOR VECTORS TO BEECH FIELD, HE REPLIED THAT IT WAS 2 MI AT MY 2 O'CLOCK AND TO CHANGE FREQ TO 122.95 AND XMIT INTENTIONS. I REPLIED THAT I HAD ARPT IN SIGHT ON MY LEFT, CHANGED FREQ, NOTED TFC FAR TO MY LEFT, EXTENDED MY DOWNWIND TO SEQUENCE IN BEHIND A TWIN WHICH WAS BY THEN TURNING RIGHT BASE TO RWY 18. I STARTED MY LEFT BASE LEG TO FOLLOW HIM IN, XMITTING POSITION AND INTENTIONS, TURNED FINAL, TOUCHING DOWN AS THAT ACFT LEFT THE ACTIVE RWY. WAS WAVED IN TO PARK IN FRONT OF FBO WHERE I WAS PARKED, WENT INSIDE TO REQUEST FUEL AND 2 NIGHTS PARKING, THEN WAS GIVEN RIDE TO HILTON EAST HOTEL FOR MEETING. WHILE THE ARPT ARRANGEMENTS WERE BEING MADE, BECAME AWARE THAT HAD LANDED AT JABARA NOT BEECH, BUT HAD NOT FELT ANY PROBLEM RESULTED, AS AMPLE DISTANCE HAD BEEN ALLOWED FOR OTHER TFC, JUST THAT OTHER TFC I WAS HEARING WAS FOR NEARBY ARPT.
