Narrative:
I departed city after requesting clearance from ZZZ tower to transit their area to the northwest. I was cleared by ZZZ tower to proceed as requested. I proceeded on a heading of approximately 300 degree, as I neared XXX I turned right to a heading of 320 degree which I maintained back to the home base. I reported clear of ZZZ's airspace a few mi northwest of their control zone. The problem arose when I received a phone call questioning my incursion of a NOTAM'ed restr area defined as an area 5 NM radius north of the VOR 104 degree radial at 5 NM. This space was to be used by an aerobatic team operating out of ZZZ. My route of flight took me through NOTAM'ed restr area, which overlaps ZZZ's airspace. I understood ZZZ tower's clearance to include the portion of restr airspace outside their control zone, as they were one of the controling agencies for the aerobatic show. The corrective action I feel would be for ZZZ's tower to have advised me to remain clear of the restr area or to have cleared me through the area. I also should not have assumed the clearance was valid in the restr airspace. During this time the aerobatic team was on the ground at ZZZ.

Title: EMS HELICOPTER PENETRATES A RESTRICTED AREA.
Narrative: I DEPARTED CITY AFTER REQUESTING CLRNC FROM ZZZ TWR TO TRANSIT THEIR AREA TO THE NW. I WAS CLRED BY ZZZ TWR TO PROCEED AS REQUESTED. I PROCEEDED ON A HDG OF APPROX 300 DEG, AS I NEARED XXX I TURNED RIGHT TO A HDG OF 320 DEG WHICH I MAINTAINED BACK TO THE HOME BASE. I REPORTED CLEAR OF ZZZ'S AIRSPACE A FEW MI NW OF THEIR CTL ZONE. THE PROBLEM AROSE WHEN I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL QUESTIONING MY INCURSION OF A NOTAM'ED RESTR AREA DEFINED AS AN AREA 5 NM RADIUS N OF THE VOR 104 DEG RADIAL AT 5 NM. THIS SPACE WAS TO BE USED BY AN AEROBATIC TEAM OPERATING OUT OF ZZZ. MY ROUTE OF FLT TOOK ME THROUGH NOTAM'ED RESTR AREA, WHICH OVERLAPS ZZZ'S AIRSPACE. I UNDERSTOOD ZZZ TWR'S CLRNC TO INCLUDE THE PORTION OF RESTR AIRSPACE OUTSIDE THEIR CTL ZONE, AS THEY WERE ONE OF THE CTLING AGENCIES FOR THE AEROBATIC SHOW. THE CORRECTIVE ACTION I FEEL WOULD BE FOR ZZZ'S TWR TO HAVE ADVISED ME TO REMAIN CLEAR OF THE RESTR AREA OR TO HAVE CLRED ME THROUGH THE AREA. I ALSO SHOULD NOT HAVE ASSUMED THE CLRNC WAS VALID IN THE RESTR AIRSPACE. DURING THIS TIME THE AEROBATIC TEAM WAS ON THE GND AT ZZZ.
