Narrative:
While practicing holding at an intersection with one VOR the VOR became inoperative with no indication. We were on a southbound heading and on the holding leg waiting for the intersection to arrive. At the end of our time I had noticed no needle swing and thought our outbnd time was in error. We proceeded for approximately 15 seconds more, when I started to troubleshoot the situation and discovered the radio had vibrated out of its position, and was not giving proper indication. When the situation was corrected we had noticed we entered the north boundary of the TCA.
