Narrative:
Captains leg; ATC cleared us to 2;500 for visual approach to runway 17. ATC asked if we had field in site; captain said yes and I agreed. Told to switch to tower. FAF altitude was placed in the window. While tuning tower freq we got a 'terrain; terrain pull up'. Captain disengaged the autopilot; raised the nose and advanced power. The warning ceased immediately and the radio altimeter indicated clear of terrain. Normal landing followed.
