Narrative:
During the post-takeoff phase of flight/climb, it was discovered that the gear had not retracted, even though selected up. Following our clearance we finished up the normal after takeoff checks and duties and proceeded to troubleshoot the gear problem while observing the gear airspeed limitations. This aircraft had had a similar problem before, but it could not be found and always retracted normally when checked. The takeoff, after takeoff checks, climb and troubleshooting took about 30 mins, at which time we had burned down to landing weight. (We had been above both maximum tip fuel and maximum landing weight.) we then turned for the airport and landed with the gear firmly down and locked, and so indicated. The problem turned out to be an intermittent failure of the right hand squat switch, which prevented the gear from coming out of the down locks, but did allow the inbound doors to cycle. This gave us 3 green and then an additional 2 reds when we tried to cycle.

Title: UNABLE TO RAISE GEAR AFTER TKOF FROM DEN, FLT CREW ELECTED TO RETURN TO DEN.
Narrative: DURING THE POST-TKOF PHASE OF FLT/CLB, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE GEAR HAD NOT RETRACTED, EVEN THOUGH SELECTED UP. FOLLOWING OUR CLRNC WE FINISHED UP THE NORMAL AFTER TKOF CHKS AND DUTIES AND PROCEEDED TO TROUBLESHOOT THE GEAR PROB WHILE OBSERVING THE GEAR AIRSPD LIMITATIONS. THIS ACFT HAD HAD A SIMILAR PROB BEFORE, BUT IT COULD NOT BE FOUND AND ALWAYS RETRACTED NORMALLY WHEN CHKED. THE TKOF, AFTER TKOF CHKS, CLB AND TROUBLESHOOTING TOOK ABOUT 30 MINS, AT WHICH TIME WE HAD BURNED DOWN TO LNDG WT. (WE HAD BEEN ABOVE BOTH MAX TIP FUEL AND MAX LNDG WT.) WE THEN TURNED FOR THE ARPT AND LANDED WITH THE GEAR FIRMLY DOWN AND LOCKED, AND SO INDICATED. THE PROB TURNED OUT TO BE AN INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE RIGHT HAND SQUAT SWITCH, WHICH PREVENTED THE GEAR FROM COMING OUT OF THE DOWN LOCKS, BUT DID ALLOW THE INBND DOORS TO CYCLE. THIS GAVE US 3 GREEN AND THEN AN ADDITIONAL 2 REDS WHEN WE TRIED TO CYCLE.
