Narrative:
In cruise flight at FL370; heard a loud pop and observed captain's windscreen shatter. Pressurization remained good. No arcing observed before or after. I referenced closest airfields; requested [expedited] descent and divert to ZZZZ. ATC cleared us to descend to FL200 in accordance with QRH procedure for cracked window. I passed the pilot flying duties to my first officer due to very limited forward visibility on my side. Uneventful divert to ZZZZ.
