Narrative:
We were cleared to land on runway 4. Night, low overcast and rain. After landing, captain cleared onto runway 13. I noticed that the tower had an aircraft in position on 13. Once already on 13, the tower told us that runway 13 turnoff was approved, followed by our first right turn. When we contacted ground he told us, taxi via papa outer, hotel, but we were already by papa and we used golf. I mentioned this to ground and he had no problem with it. The major point here is that I feel we should have stopped short of the intersecting runway or rolled thru it or requested permission to clear onto it. Fortunately, this controller was kind enough to approve it after the fact. Others might not be. P.south. At our airline the capts usually take the airplane below 20K and also do all the taxiing. This applies to the medium large transport, not necessarily other aircraft.

Title: ON LNDG ROLL ACR MLG TURNED OFF ON INTERSECTING ACTIVE RWY WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 4. NIGHT, LOW OVERCAST AND RAIN. AFTER LNDG, CAPT CLRED ONTO RWY 13. I NOTICED THAT THE TWR HAD AN ACFT IN POSITION ON 13. ONCE ALREADY ON 13, THE TWR TOLD US THAT RWY 13 TURNOFF WAS APPROVED, FOLLOWED BY OUR FIRST RIGHT TURN. WHEN WE CONTACTED GND HE TOLD US, TAXI VIA PAPA OUTER, HOTEL, BUT WE WERE ALREADY BY PAPA AND WE USED GOLF. I MENTIONED THIS TO GND AND HE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH IT. THE MAJOR POINT HERE IS THAT I FEEL WE SHOULD HAVE STOPPED SHORT OF THE INTERSECTING RWY OR ROLLED THRU IT OR REQUESTED PERMISSION TO CLEAR ONTO IT. FORTUNATELY, THIS CTLR WAS KIND ENOUGH TO APPROVE IT AFTER THE FACT. OTHERS MIGHT NOT BE. P.S. AT OUR AIRLINE THE CAPTS USUALLY TAKE THE AIRPLANE BELOW 20K AND ALSO DO ALL THE TAXIING. THIS APPLIES TO THE MLG, NOT NECESSARILY OTHER ACFT.
