Narrative:

Captain is pilot flying. At approximately 70 knots received ECAM message engine 1 compressor vane. ECAM directed action was to bring thrust levers to idle and therefore reject the takeoff. Rejected takeoff without incident (autobrakes worked well); exited runway; and taxied back to the gate. No emergency was declared. Called maintenance and entered appropriate writeup in the maintenance logbook. We switched aircraft before continuing our trip. FYI...previous writeup in the maintenance logbook from earlier that morning indicated exact same ECAM message on takeoff and associated reject. Unsure of cause and associated maintenance action(s).
