Narrative:
I admit that I did not write in the aircraft log books on ad XXX that had to do with paper air filters. These filters were changed every 100 hours of flight, and it was obvious to the safety inspector that this was complied with. The filters were installed as required, and were new. A call to the mechanic or the owner would have been sufficient. This would have been taken care of. The other matter involved has to do with ad xyz--the installation of a nut and cotter key in the throttle arm. The log books show that I complied with this prior to 4/88. The aircraft was inspected in 1988 by an FAA safety inspector and was not found to be in violation. I inspected it in 4/89 and did not notice it being changed. In 5/89, an FAA safety inspector found this ad had not been complied with. This fuel system had been worked on for 4.2 hours the previous day by a competitor. I have a copy of this work report. I think this is a very poor investigation and an attempt to discredit me.
