Narrative:
The first officer was flying the karlo 2 arrival into phx via the drake transition. We were cleared to 9000' by phx approach. Passing 10,000' I made the standard callouts, 10,000, and 10 for 9. We passed the srp 312 degree radial at 26 DME and continued inbound. The first officer realized that we should have turned at vadrr (srp 312 degree radial at 26). We both focused our attention to the approach plate. The controller asked us to say our altitude. We were at approximately 8600'. The first officer responded that we overshot our altitude and were correcting. We returned to 9000' and the lowest we got was 8500'. The first officer turned towards aquar and I tuned the stanfield 334 degree radial to check how far from the STAR we were. ATC later gave us heading and altitude changes and we landed at phx.

Title: ACR FLT CREW EXPERIENCES ALT AND TRACK DEVIATION WHILE ON KARLO TWO STAR TO PHX.
Narrative: THE F/O WAS FLYING THE KARLO 2 ARR INTO PHX VIA THE DRAKE TRANSITION. WE WERE CLRED TO 9000' BY PHX APCH. PASSING 10,000' I MADE THE STANDARD CALLOUTS, 10,000, AND 10 FOR 9. WE PASSED THE SRP 312 DEG RADIAL AT 26 DME AND CONTINUED INBND. THE F/O REALIZED THAT WE SHOULD HAVE TURNED AT VADRR (SRP 312 DEG RADIAL AT 26). WE BOTH FOCUSED OUR ATTN TO THE APCH PLATE. THE CTLR ASKED US TO SAY OUR ALT. WE WERE AT APPROX 8600'. THE F/O RESPONDED THAT WE OVERSHOT OUR ALT AND WERE CORRECTING. WE RETURNED TO 9000' AND THE LOWEST WE GOT WAS 8500'. THE F/O TURNED TOWARDS AQUAR AND I TUNED THE STANFIELD 334 DEG RADIAL TO CHECK HOW FAR FROM THE STAR WE WERE. ATC LATER GAVE US HDG AND ALT CHANGES AND WE LANDED AT PHX.
