Narrative:

Our flight was heading about 120 degrees when ATC advised us to turn left 45 degrees due to traffic. We were picking up the traffic on the TCASII at our 12 O'clock position and 7-9 mi. As we started the turn ATC advised the traffic to turn right due to traffic. The other aircraft said that they were unable to turn due to WX. At this time ATC advised us to turn further left. Also, at this time the TCASII said to 'descend' shortly followed by a command to 'climb.' we initiated a climb from FL370 to FL378. The traffic passed off our right side by 2-4 mi. We then descended back to FL370.
