Narrative:
After a normal landing and rollout on runway 14 at anc, the flight crew was asked to turn off at intersection lima for company traffic on short final behind us. In addition to the reverse thrust already applied, the captain applied brakes--but braking did not noticeably increase. I informed the tower that we were unable to make lima due to slickness of the runway. The tower asked to expedite to the end. Approaching the end, brakes were heavily applied by the captain. I felt an initial deceleration as the brakes took hold, and then an acceleration as (what felt like) the anti-skid released. The runway from lima to the end went from bare and wet to standing slush, and as we entered the slushy area the braking action became nil. As the end of the runway approached, it became obvious that we wouldn't be able to stop on it. The captain brought the #3 engine out of reverse in a successful attempt to regain directional control. We went off the end, turning to the left, and took out a couple of taxiway lights and a lighted sign with the left main gear before successfully negotiating the taxiway off the runway and taxiing to the gate. The braking action report we received prior to landing was 'excellent,' based on a ground tapely reading. I think it would be wise to have braking action reports done and reported for all segments of the runway. After our taxiway excursion, another report was taken with braking action still reported as excellent, although this time location was specified as mid-field.

Title: LGT ENCOUNTERS SLICK RWY END ON RWY 14 AT ANC AND RUNS OFF END.
Narrative: AFTER A NORMAL LNDG AND ROLLOUT ON RWY 14 AT ANC, THE FLT CREW WAS ASKED TO TURN OFF AT INTXN LIMA FOR COMPANY TFC ON SHORT FINAL BEHIND US. IN ADDITION TO THE REVERSE THRUST ALREADY APPLIED, THE CAPT APPLIED BRAKES--BUT BRAKING DID NOT NOTICEABLY INCREASE. I INFORMED THE TWR THAT WE WERE UNABLE TO MAKE LIMA DUE TO SLICKNESS OF THE RWY. THE TWR ASKED TO EXPEDITE TO THE END. APCHING THE END, BRAKES WERE HEAVILY APPLIED BY THE CAPT. I FELT AN INITIAL DECELERATION AS THE BRAKES TOOK HOLD, AND THEN AN ACCELERATION AS (WHAT FELT LIKE) THE ANTI-SKID RELEASED. THE RWY FROM LIMA TO THE END WENT FROM BARE AND WET TO STANDING SLUSH, AND AS WE ENTERED THE SLUSHY AREA THE BRAKING ACTION BECAME NIL. AS THE END OF THE RWY APCHED, IT BECAME OBVIOUS THAT WE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO STOP ON IT. THE CAPT BROUGHT THE #3 ENG OUT OF REVERSE IN A SUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT TO REGAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. WE WENT OFF THE END, TURNING TO THE LEFT, AND TOOK OUT A COUPLE OF TXWY LIGHTS AND A LIGHTED SIGN WITH THE LEFT MAIN GEAR BEFORE SUCCESSFULLY NEGOTIATING THE TXWY OFF THE RWY AND TAXIING TO THE GATE. THE BRAKING ACTION RPT WE RECEIVED PRIOR TO LNDG WAS 'EXCELLENT,' BASED ON A GND TAPELY READING. I THINK IT WOULD BE WISE TO HAVE BRAKING ACTION RPTS DONE AND RPTED FOR ALL SEGMENTS OF THE RWY. AFTER OUR TXWY EXCURSION, ANOTHER RPT WAS TAKEN WITH BRAKING ACTION STILL RPTED AS EXCELLENT, ALTHOUGH THIS TIME LOCATION WAS SPECIFIED AS MID-FIELD.
