Narrative:
Aircraft accidentally flown through assigned altitude. Flight was cleared to FL230 and was flown to FL260 before being called by controller. I (first officer) was flying at the time, and was preoccupied with setting engine sync and performance. Captain was looking at en route navigation charts. Controller then assigned us FL260 and handed us off to another controller. There were no other aircraft in the area.
