Narrative:

En route from sbn to iag, and level at FL190 for approximately 5 mins, we heard a loud bang. We noticed that the copilot's windscreen had shattered. I notified ZOB that we had a problem and would have to divert to the nearest airport and descend to a lower altitude immediately. ZOB advised that jxn was the closest airport. We were assigned a 360 degree heading and cleared to 9000'. We shut off the bleed air switch, slowed the airplane down and started a descent. ZOB handed us off to lansing approach, who vectored us to jxn, and we landed west/O any further incident or damage. With closer examination of the windscreen, we determined that the outside windshield was still intact, but showed signs of outward movement. The inside pane (glass portion) was completed shattered. The cause of this problem is unknown at this time.

Title: ATX SMT WINDSCREEN SHATTERED AT CRUISE ALT. FLT CREW DIVERTED TO ALTERNATE.

Narrative: ENRTE FROM SBN TO IAG, AND LEVEL AT FL190 FOR APPROX 5 MINS, WE HEARD A LOUD BANG. WE NOTICED THAT THE COPLT'S WINDSCREEN HAD SHATTERED. I NOTIFIED ZOB THAT WE HAD A PROB AND WOULD HAVE TO DIVERT TO THE NEAREST ARPT AND DSND TO A LOWER ALT IMMEDIATELY. ZOB ADVISED THAT JXN WAS THE CLOSEST ARPT. WE WERE ASSIGNED A 360 DEG HDG AND CLRED TO 9000'. WE SHUT OFF THE BLEED AIR SWITCH, SLOWED THE AIRPLANE DOWN AND STARTED A DSCNT. ZOB HANDED US OFF TO LANSING APCH, WHO VECTORED US TO JXN, AND WE LANDED W/O ANY FURTHER INCIDENT OR DAMAGE. WITH CLOSER EXAMINATION OF THE WINDSCREEN, WE DETERMINED THAT THE OUTSIDE WINDSHIELD WAS STILL INTACT, BUT SHOWED SIGNS OF OUTWARD MOVEMENT. THE INSIDE PANE (GLASS PORTION) WAS COMPLETED SHATTERED. THE CAUSE OF THIS PROB IS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME.
