Narrative:
Commuter flight daio was cleared for takeoff to maintain 2000', and fly heading 210 degrees for traffic, then told to contact departure and advise a heading deviation. I, the first officer, had set 126.43 in the communication radio instead of 126.8, as assigned. Upon contact my call was 'departure this is commuter caio, up to maintain 2000', assigned heading 210 degrees for traffic.' ATC responded 'commuter caio climb maintain 4000'.' I clarified by stating 'commuter daio up to maintain 4000', assigned heading 210 degrees for traffic and we are clear of the traffic.' some other discussion took place and ATC inquired 'where did you depart from?' I answered 'ft lauderdale.' ATC responded with 'this is palm beach departure and I've got a company coming out of here, contact mia departure.' I contacted mia on 128.6 and advised 'commuter daio at 3.7 to maintain 4000'.' mia responded 'commuter daio, climb maintain 14000.' me: 'roger, commuter daio up to maintain 1-4-thousand. Note: the active frequency select switch obscures the 10TH's digit on communication #1 from the first officer's seat.
