Narrative:
Romeo taxiway has no signs indicating 'right.' the boxes are there, but there are no 'right' letters. Both boxes are missing 'right's' for romeo (east and west on romeo). I had to ask ground where I was. Ground support poor at phl. Taxiway hold short paint is old and not visible, etc. Poor ground support for pilots can lead to accidents. Callback conversation with airport operations rep revealed the following: the reporter is in error. This person states that the letter 'right' is on the box in certain directions, but the opp side of the box is blank. Still sounds like a problem to me.

Title: ACR MLG FLT CREW REPORTS IDENTIFIER FOR TXWY MISSING AT PHL.
Narrative: ROMEO TXWY HAS NO SIGNS INDICATING 'R.' THE BOXES ARE THERE, BUT THERE ARE NO 'R' LETTERS. BOTH BOXES ARE MISSING 'R'S' FOR ROMEO (E AND W ON ROMEO). I HAD TO ASK GND WHERE I WAS. GND SUPPORT POOR AT PHL. TXWY HOLD SHORT PAINT IS OLD AND NOT VISIBLE, ETC. POOR GND SUPPORT FOR PLTS CAN LEAD TO ACCIDENTS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH ARPT OPS REP REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: THE RPTR IS IN ERROR. THIS PERSON STATES THAT THE LETTER 'R' IS ON THE BOX IN CERTAIN DIRECTIONS, BUT THE OPP SIDE OF THE BOX IS BLANK. STILL SOUNDS LIKE A PROB TO ME.
