Narrative:
We were on the WADOL2 STAR arrival into rno. We were assigned 9;100 by approach control. We were about 5 miles south of hhope intersection when we received a GPWS terrain warning 'terrain; terrain; pull up'. We had no indications of terrain on the nd display. We complied with the terrain escape maneuver until warning went away; which was almost immediately. We advised ATC of our terrain warning as we leveled off around 10;300. Approach control then told us to descend to 10;000 feet and gave us a right turn (base leg) for ILS 34L. Made normal approach and landing.
