Narrative:
I was flying as captain on air carrier flight X (an medium large transport aircraft) making an ILS approach to runway 16R at sea under VFR conditions. I was advised by sea approach control that another aircraft, air carrier flight Y, an mdt, had me in sight and would be making a visibility approach to runway 16L and that he may pass me on approach. My first officer noticed the other aircraft at approximately our 9:30 position and that his course to intercept the runway 16L extension seemed excessive. As he pulled abeam of my aircraft, he appeared to overshoot the extended centerline for runway 16L and that he might overrun into the ILS course for runway 16R. I moved my aircraft to the right of the ILS localizer course to avoid any further conflict. The other aircraft had his right wing up and would probably be unable to maintain visibility sep with us. This occurred in the vicinity of parkk OM (5.8 DME of 1521 ILS). Both aircraft landed normally on their assigned runways. I advised sea tower that the overshoot was 'a little too close.'

Title: LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION OCCURS ON A VISUAL FINAL APCH AS ACFT Y OVERSHOOTS TURN TO INTERCEPT. ACFT X ON PARALLEL RWY APCH AND TURNS TO PROVIDE EXTRA SEPARATION.
Narrative: I WAS FLYING AS CAPT ON ACR FLT X (AN MLG ACFT) MAKING AN ILS APCH TO RWY 16R AT SEA UNDER VFR CONDITIONS. I WAS ADVISED BY SEA APCH CTL THAT ANOTHER ACFT, ACR FLT Y, AN MDT, HAD ME IN SIGHT AND WOULD BE MAKING A VIS APCH TO RWY 16L AND THAT HE MAY PASS ME ON APCH. MY F/O NOTICED THE OTHER ACFT AT APPROX OUR 9:30 POS AND THAT HIS COURSE TO INTERCEPT THE RWY 16L EXTENSION SEEMED EXCESSIVE. AS HE PULLED ABEAM OF MY ACFT, HE APPEARED TO OVERSHOOT THE EXTENDED CENTERLINE FOR RWY 16L AND THAT HE MIGHT OVERRUN INTO THE ILS COURSE FOR RWY 16R.
