Narrative:

I was working the radar associate position assisting the radar man. He had just combined all three sectors and had about 12 aircraft on frequency. MTR X was established on V323 east of prest and requested direct rrs for which he was subsequently cleared. This turned him closer towards the boundary for jacksonville center. A few mins later, I noticed that he was two mi into ZJX airspace west/O the handoff having been accepted. I immediately made a manual handoff. Contributing factors: one sector working too many aircraft. The next facility did not take the handoff as soon as it started flashing at them and they did not call when the aircraft was approaching their boundary before I put it in handoff status.

MTR X WAS ESTABLISHED ON V323 E OF PREST AND REQUESTED DIRECT RRS FOR WHICH HE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY CLRED. THIS TURNED HIM CLOSER TOWARDS THE BOUNDARY FOR JACKSONVILLE CENTER. A FEW MINS LATER, I NOTICED THAT HE WAS TWO MI INTO ZJX AIRSPACE W/O THE HDOF HAVING BEEN ACCEPTED. I IMMEDIATELY MADE A MANUAL HDOF. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: ONE SECTOR WORKING TOO MANY ACFT.
