Narrative:
Over the fix 'ogger' on the TYNEE1 arrival into rsw we started a descent from FL270 and the aircraft started to roll aggressively up to 30 degrees. The flying pilot disconnected the autopilot to recover and we decided to track the arrival/off-set 3 NM west of course knowing this is a wake turbulence event with the knowledge of another aircraft on the same arrival 10 NM in front of us. We asked miami center what type of aircraft this was and requested course deviation to avoid his wake. The request was approved and the aircraft was identified as a B757. The crew explained this event to passengers over the PA and the rest of this flight was normal.
