Narrative:

When we arrived at the aircraft; it was raining heavily. During the preflight; the APU gen dropped offline. We thought it was because of all of the rain; possibly in the avionics compartment. We called for maintenance; who came out deferred the APU gen and inspected the avionics compartment. They dried it out with the pads and we thought everything was fine.as we were climbing out the #2 gen faulted and we complied with ECAM and QRH. Fearing it was related to all of the rain in the avionics compartment and having only one generator in heavy weather and rain; the captain [advised ATC] and we immediately returned uneventfully.
