Narrative:
On final approach +025L at lax at 1000' MSL, we had a near miss with an small transport who is apparently overshot 25R. I was in the process of talking to tower and didn't see the traffic until the captain saw him slightly low and to the right of our aircraft. He was in an evasive climbing right turn. I estimate closest point of approach about 250'. Factors involved: haze -- we had trouble seeing the runways until the marker approximately 1500 AGL. Airport -- conducts simultaneous apches in reduced visibility on very close runways. Flight crew -- I was occupied getting landing clearance, completing the checklist and finding the runway!

Title: COMMUTER SMT OVERSHOT RWY CENTERLINE TURNING IN FOR VISUAL APCH TO RWY 25R AT LAX CAUSING CLOSE PROX WITH WDB ON VISUAL STRAIGHT IN TO RWY 25L.
Narrative: ON FINAL APCH +025L AT LAX AT 1000' MSL, WE HAD A NEAR MISS WITH AN SMT WHO IS APPARENTLY OVERSHOT 25R. I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF TALKING TO TWR AND DIDN'T SEE THE TFC UNTIL THE CAPT SAW HIM SLIGHTLY LOW AND TO THE RIGHT OF OUR ACFT. HE WAS IN AN EVASIVE CLIMBING RIGHT TURN. I ESTIMATE CLOSEST POINT OF APCH ABOUT 250'. FACTORS INVOLVED: HAZE -- WE HAD TROUBLE SEEING THE RWYS UNTIL THE MARKER APPROX 1500 AGL. ARPT -- CONDUCTS SIMULTANEOUS APCHES IN REDUCED VISIBILITY ON VERY CLOSE RWYS. FLT CREW -- I WAS OCCUPIED GETTING LNDG CLRNC, COMPLETING THE CHECKLIST AND FINDING THE RWY!
