Narrative:
Tonight captain; first officer and myself were operating a flight to libreville; gabon. Captain was the flying pilot and I was the non-flying pilot. Over disak waypoint we received a frequency change and direct to valku. I checked in with the controller and got a response to our position. Approximately 15 minutes had gone by and we received a call on 121.5 from control. We were then given a new frequency were they said that they had tried to reach us several times without a reply. None of us had heard a call being broadcasted to us. Control then gave us a new frequency so we switched over and checked in. Approximately 5 minutes later control told us that we are being intercepted by the military to verify our aircraft because they lost contact with us for approximately 15 minutes. The military knew before the point of intercept that we were in radio contact again but still wanted to check and verify our aircraft. They intercepted us at FL310 on UN855. Military aircraft came up on our right wing for approximately 2 minutes and then left.
