Narrative:
Prior to taxi in hwd we received a clearance to climb runway heading to 400 feet left turn to a heading of 170 climb and maintain 2000 expect 4000 feet 5 minutes; radar vectors ILS runway xy right in ZZZ. After tuning in our radios for the ILS at ZZZ we called for taxi clearance while on the ramp. I was taxiing out for departure from hayward california to ZZZ in [a corporate jet]. We were given clearance to taxi to runway 28L via a; A1.while approaching the east hangars where alpha taxiway transitions to alpha 1 there was some confusion as to which way to taxi and the hotspot on the airport diagram we determined the correct direction and continued on to a 1 taxiway. We continued checklist items and approached the intersection of A-A1 where a tail dragger was holding short of the runway; we both stopped our ops to focus on the wing clearance of the tail dragger and as I taxied clear of it and I heard my cell phone beep and I picked it up off the side console to put it in airplane mode as the copilot was finishing checklist items; and then I came to a stop adjacent to a run up area on taxiway A1 still parallel to runway 28L.in an attempt to eliminate a distraction I inadvertently created one. It is at this time that I believe I passed the hold short sign on taxiway alpha 1 just prior to the run-up area. I asked the copilot if he saw any hold short signs before proceeding further and he said no. I asked if we had passed them and he said possibly. I had not rounded the corner and was stopped adjacent to the small run up area when we asked for takeoff clearance.as I looked forward and to the right to see if there were any hold short signs ahead; I heard the controller tell an aircraft to make a right 360. I was still stationary beside the run up pad and we received an expedite to taxi onto the runway and exit at alfa and when I did I could clearly see the hold short signs just prior to the run up are we stopped initially.the landing aircraft asked why they had to do a 360 and the controller told them that an aircraft had crossed a hold short line and since it was technically part of the runway he was required to send him around. We were given a number to call which I did and relayed pertinent pilot information. While this flight was not unusual as far as other flights in the past; I believe that a lack of familiarity; distractions; coupled with fatigue were causal factors. This could have been prevented if I had ignored the initial distraction until I had come to a complete stop giving my undivided attention to the immediate task of taxiing to the runway. I have notified our safety officer and submitted a hazard incident report.
