Narrative:
When taxiing to [a] gate that is in the alley; we were advised by ATC that there was an aircraft pushed back into the alley. They asked if we had room to get into the gate; and we told them that we did. We were cleared to taxi into the gate and he advised the aircraft under tow to allow us in. I approached the gate at an angle to increase the distance between my left wing and the other aircraft. The first officer said that I had good clearance on the right side of the aircraft and I continued to watch the left wing. As I got closer I noticed that the other aircraft was very slowly moving forward which decreased the distance between us. While the distance was starting to get closer than I would have liked; I continued to the gate. I believe that I had about 30 feet of wing clearance and arrived at the gate without incident.I didn't like the uncomfortable feeling of being that close to another aircraft and in the future I will just stop and let the other aircraft taxi out before I continue to the gate. I believe that the tug driver should have stopped as I was taxiing in.
