Narrative:
It was a practice and currency day of flying - I took off and executed 5 good landings - 3 full stop; 2 touch and go. Landings were safe; approaches were stabilized and my confidence was building. I thereupon headed back home where I contacted tower; ATC instructed me to join left traffic pattern (1000 ft) for runway xx. Base turn may have been a little early for 1000 ft (rather than the 800 ft to which I am accustomed.) final approach was subsequently high and fast (80 kts rather than 65-70 kts); rather than execute a balked landing and go-around I executed a straight-ahead slip to reduce altitude. I was still fast (80 kts) and the winds were light; I decided I could make a good landing; though not completely stabilized. However; I touched down hard; bounced on landing; applied power to cushion bounce; then second touchdown landed flat; resulting in collapsed nose gear; prop bent; wind from the east caused ground loop dragging left wingtip as airplane came to halt on right edge of runway xx about 500 ft from departure end. I should have executed a go-around as soon as I realized I was not on a stabilized approach.I have already set up time to practice landings in same type airplane with my cfii; and will continue to train with him until we both feel I have completely learned the lessons of this hard landing.

Title: C182 pilot made a hard landing after an unstabilized approach causing the nose gear to collapse.
Narrative: It was a practice and currency day of flying - I took off and executed 5 good landings - 3 full stop; 2 touch and go. However; I touched down hard; bounced on landing; applied power to cushion bounce; then second touchdown landed flat; resulting in collapsed nose gear; prop bent; wind from the east caused ground loop dragging left wingtip as airplane came to halt on right edge of RWY XX about 500 ft from Departure End. I should have executed a go-around as soon as I realized I was not on a stabilized approach.I have already set up time to practice landings in same type airplane with my CFII; and will continue to train with him until we both feel I have completely learned the lessons of this hard landing.
