Narrative:
Aircraft position when ATC clearance was given- holding short of 25L at G. ATC clearance- cross 25L via H; hold short of 25R at J. After crossing 25L; taxiway H can be confusing based on the position of the taxiway signage due to the close proximity of the signage of H1. In addition the 10-9 diagram is not accurate based on the diagram and the reality of the layout of the taxiways. We taxied on H1 to join taxiway H to hold short of J at runway 25L. There was no traffic conflict affecting any runway and/or taxiway operation based on our movement. Either identify the area as a hot spot or improve the illustration on the 10-9.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: B737NG Captain reported being confused by the signage at the intersections of Taxiways G; H and H1 at LAX. He also did not believe the airport diagram accurately depicts the taxiways at that intersection.
