Narrative:
Autoplt coupled to perf (perf management system). Controller advised to slow for holding ahead. Aircraft slowed to 220 KIAS, then controller advised speed up to 320 KIAS. Speed was programmed into perf. Suddenly as aircraft was accelerating, aircraft left altitude and climbed 200' above assigned altitude before autoplt could be disconnected.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ALT DEVIATION. EXCURSION FROM ASSIGNED.
Narrative: AUTOPLT COUPLED TO PERF (PERF MGMNT SYS). CTLR ADVISED TO SLOW FOR HOLDING AHEAD. ACFT SLOWED TO 220 KIAS, THEN CTLR ADVISED SPD UP TO 320 KIAS. SPD WAS PROGRAMMED INTO PERF. SUDDENLY AS ACFT WAS ACCELERATING, ACFT LEFT ALT AND CLBED 200' ABOVE ASSIGNED ALT BEFORE AUTOPLT COULD BE DISCONNECTED.
