Narrative:

Assigned ABBEY3A arrival for runway 7L; subsequent holding assigned at abbey 'as published'; pilot monitoring (pm) entered hold at abbey with verification from pilot flying (PF) and executed. Reported entering holding. Assigned an expect further clearance (efc) time. After several turns in the hold; and descent in the stack in holding; was assigned a heading of 150; and given runway change. ATC asked if we were holding 10 miles legs. We replied no were holding standard 1 min legs. ATC pointed out ten mile leg required at abbey; and to please fly published in future. Vectors continued for new runway assignment. No further action or comment from ATC.on examination of jepp page; both myself PF and pm had scale widened out on plate in electronic flight bag (efb) in order to read print. Lost comm procedure showed what appeared to be bottom of page. Turns out more information on hold lower down in small print showing distance markers for hold; depicting a 10 mile leg. Lost comm procedure depiction on a widened out scale; makes page appear to be at bottom of page when indeed it is not. Plate is misleading; with note about holding assigned individually; yes holding was assigned individually without entire information for proper clearance. No efc was given until asked and it wasn't until several turns had been completed that ATC even asked about leg length. This non-standard leg length is an easy element to miss concerning these holding patterns on this arrival. Page placement of information can be misleading; with placement of lost comm information.jepp depiction and presentation of information. Typical last min holding assignments coming into vhhh during high traffic time frame. 7th day of international rotation and circadian low. Small print on jepp charts. Fix poor depiction of holding patterns; and ATC clarifying what leg length in hold.
