Narrative:

On arrival to ind we were cleared for the SnakePoint2 RNAV arrival (SNKPT2). This arrival has multiple crossing points with altitudes ranging from at or above/below; and in between. The aircraft FMS was properly set and the entire arrival was flown without incident; until at 5000 feet; approach queried us if we wanted vectors for our descent. Still not realizing our error we declined; and landed visually at ind.during taxiing we both noticed altimeters reading -40 ft. Elev in ind is 796ft. We were both stunned when we realized our error. Altimeter setting for this day was unusually high with 30.67 in.; and somehow we managed to set it to 29.67; a difference of 800 ft. With nearly 30;000 flight hours between us; we still managed to do an elementary but very serious mistake. Even following checklist and proper procedures this mistake managed to creep in with a very detail oriented and experienced crew. A wake up call indeed.
