Narrative:
After takeoff the captain informed [us] that it is safe for us to get up to work. I worked [forward] galley position sitting at 1R. I was standing in the galley preparing for the service when the plane encountered clear air turbulence (CAT). When I felt the sudden drop I immediately squat down to protect myself then I was thrown down onto the floor right away by a strong force and my head hit very hard onto the door of a cart. I felt a lot of pain on my head.[another flight attendant] (who works [the] aisle position) was also in the galley at that moment and he was thrown down onto the floor as well while holding onto the top of a cart. He asked me many times if I am okay and until after a while I told him I am ok. When the plane finally stabilizes after a few minutes; he helped me up to jumpseat 1R while he sat down at 1L. I then called [the other flight attendant (flight attendant)] at 2R and told him that my head is hurting from the hit onto the cart while [other flight attendant] says he has pain on his right knee and foot.later on; [the aisle position flight attendant] checked my head to see if it was bleeding and it wasn't. Then he checked himself and I saw he has cuts and scrapes on his skin on his right knee and also on the top of his right foot.we continued with the service. After landing; I and 4 other fas who were also injured in this incident went to airport clinic to see a physician; accompanied by base manager. I was diagnosed with head and left elbow contusion; neck sprain and back sprain.
