Narrative:
The control position had been activated for approximately 30 mins, in anticipation of an impending holding situation. I had one aircraft (cpr X, medium large transport) holding at 140 and air carrier Y in trail was subsequently cleared to maintain 140 also. My plan was to clear other traffic traversing the sector at 130 and to descend cpr X to a lower altitude, however, I became involved in other activities and did not accomplish getting the flight to the lower altitude and sep was not maintained at the required standard.

Title: ACR Y HAD LESS THAN STNDARD SEPARATION FROM CPR Y. SYSTEM ERROR.
Narrative: THE CTL POS HAD BEEN ACTIVATED FOR APPROX 30 MINS, IN ANTICIPATION OF AN IMPENDING HOLDING SITUATION. I HAD ONE ACFT (CPR X, MLG) HOLDING AT 140 AND ACR Y IN TRAIL WAS SUBSEQUENTLY CLRED TO MAINTAIN 140 ALSO. MY PLAN WAS TO CLR OTHER TFC TRAVERSING THE SECTOR AT 130 AND TO DSND CPR X TO A LOWER ALT, HOWEVER, I BECAME INVOLVED IN OTHER ACTIVITIES AND DID NOT ACCOMPLISH GETTING THE FLT TO THE LOWER ALT AND SEP WAS NOT MAINTAINED AT THE REQUIRED STANDARD.
