Narrative:

After multiple changes in the departure clearance (seemingly new controller working clearance delivery) where copilot and I both explained that we were not RNAV equipped; we finally resulted with a clearance similar to the filed route. During the takeoff we experienced several minor aircraft advanced flight management system (amfs) errors which were correctable for the flight; but reverted to the filed/cleared route except that we were given an initial heading different from the printed departure. After correcting the afms errors we were asked by ATC if we were cleared via the SID. We were; but with another heading. Upon correction of the errors; I re-engaged the afms and the aircraft turned and began flying the standard flight plan route. The controller queried; we acknowledged the error; and turned to the assigned heading to join the departure. There was no brasher or other follow-up request from ATC. The balance of the flight was uneventful.
