Narrative:
Left wingtip contacting a fuel truck while following the marshaller signals for gate xx, terminal ab, boston, logan airport. 'J' lines were not correct or used for parking aircraft at this gate. Ramp activity was extremely busy at all gates. Approaching the gate air carrier large transport was on the right pushed back by a tug and was stationary. On the left was an aircraft parked at gate xy with two fuel trucks. Wing walkers were assisting the marshaller. A stop sign signal was given short of the gate then another signal to proceed followed by another stop signal which was given only after wingtip contact. A passenger stated while deplaning that the wingtip hit the fuel truck. Signals given by wing walkers were misunderstood by the marshaller and the aircraft was signaled forward allowing it to strike the fuel truck.
