Narrative:

Inadvertently flew past turn (at 14 mi) and lax center controller had to order an immediate turn to avoid converging traffic. We overshot the turn approximately 4 mi. I don't know how close we came to the other aircraft (a). We were preoccupied/distraction by several frequency changes, numerous light aircraft (reported) in vicinity, and a general concern for the over congestion in the ontario area. We were busy looking outside. We also had to call the overburdened controller 3 times before getting an answer (distraction). Also, the prado two departure (SID) plate is not drawn to scale. The first leg (14 mi) is the same length (on chart) as the second leg (61 mi) and this is deceptive. Should be closer to scale.
