Narrative:

There was more static than usual on both communication 1 and 2 to the extent that twice I had to request assistance in reestablishing communications. As a result, I as concentrating so much on maintaining communications that, at elmira, I continued on V36 straight to buf, instead of V270 and V164, which my clearance stated. However, roc approach subsequently did clear me direct to buf via V36. There was no conflict of traffic. In the future I will more clearly mark my clearance on my chart so there is no doubt as to my route.
