Narrative:

I had just assumed control of position with approximately 7 aircraft. 2 of those aircraft were both at 17000' with about 9 mi latitude sep. The C/a activated as one aircraft made a flight plan turn of 50 degrees, thereby converging him with the second aircraft. I issued left turns to both aircraft to attempt to alleviate situation. Contributing factor was not fully recognizing actual flight plan and associated turns. Suggest to identify each aircraft with individual routine before accepting position.
