Narrative:
I was trying to land at vero beach, fl after taking off from sebastian, fl. When I talked to CTAF frequency they advised that control zone was IFR. I had the airport and runway in sight before entering the control zone so I continued to land. There were thunderstorms in the area and one had passed over vrb about 30 mins prior to my arrival. I considered the best alternative for the safety of flight was to land at vrb rather than turn back into the thunderstorm.
