Narrative:
I was IFR coming from cozad, northeast, to lexington, northeast, to shoot a VOR 14 approach and ZDV was very busy and they gave me an altimeter setting, maintain 4500' until shron intersection, which I was already there and was clear for the approach. I rush through the approach down to MDA (minimum descent altitude) and came out on the approach half way down the runway. The problem was I was too fast and had to do a circle to land for the safety of my own judgement. After I landed, I notice that my altimeter was not set with what ZDV gave me. It show me off 75'. The problem started from the start of the approach when ZDV was busy and should of clear me for the approach 5 mins before getting to FAF (shron intersection) and I was so busy I forgot to set the altimeter. The action I took was to do a circle to land to a safe landing. The action to circle to land was for my safety and I should of did a miss approach from the beginning. ATC should of started the approach clearance a lot quicker then they did which made it a lot harder for me to do. I was by myself and felt very comfortable what I did and nobody was hurt.

Title: LATE DESCENT ON VOR APCH CAUSES REPORTER TO HAVE TO CIRCLE TO LAND.
Narrative: I WAS IFR COMING FROM COZAD, NE, TO LEXINGTON, NE, TO SHOOT A VOR 14 APCH AND ZDV WAS VERY BUSY AND THEY GAVE ME AN ALTIMETER SETTING, MAINTAIN 4500' UNTIL SHRON INTXN, WHICH I WAS ALREADY THERE AND WAS CLR FOR THE APCH. I RUSH THROUGH THE APCH DOWN TO MDA (MINIMUM DSNT ALT) AND CAME OUT ON THE APCH HALF WAY DOWN THE RWY. THE PROB WAS I WAS TOO FAST AND HAD TO DO A CIRCLE TO LAND FOR THE SAFETY OF MY OWN JUDGEMENT. AFTER I LANDED, I NOTICE THAT MY ALTIMETER WAS NOT SET WITH WHAT ZDV GAVE ME. IT SHOW ME OFF 75'. THE PROB STARTED FROM THE START OF THE APCH WHEN ZDV WAS BUSY AND SHOULD OF CLR ME FOR THE APCH 5 MINS BEFORE GETTING TO FAF (SHRON INTXN) AND I WAS SO BUSY I FORGOT TO SET THE ALTIMETER. THE ACTION I TOOK WAS TO DO A CIRCLE TO LAND TO A SAFE LNDG. THE ACTION TO CIRCLE TO LAND WAS FOR MY SAFETY AND I SHOULD OF DID A MISS APCH FROM THE BEGINNING. ATC SHOULD OF STARTED THE APCH CLRNC A LOT QUICKER THEN THEY DID WHICH MADE IT A LOT HARDER FOR ME TO DO. I WAS BY MYSELF AND FELT VERY COMFORTABLE WHAT I DID AND NOBODY WAS HURT.
