Narrative:
Approximately 5 mins after being released from monterey approach control, and en route to hollister airport, I experienced a near miss. I was flying my aircraft, an small aircraft, at VFR cruising altitude of 3500' MSL. As I neared hollister airport, and preparing to descend into the traffic pattern, I observed a civilian version of a military fgt at the same altitude in my approximately 9:30 position, heading easterly. I was heading heading 020 degrees with current monterey altimeter setting it required a 2-3 'G' vertical pull to avoid a collision. The aircraft went directly below me west/O maneuvering to avoid the collision. The other aircraft just continued on his flight. I discontinued my descent into the traffic pattern and flew to reid hillview airport to drop off my passenger.

Narrative: APPROX 5 MINS AFTER BEING RELEASED FROM MONTEREY APCH CTL, AND ENRTE TO HOLLISTER ARPT, I EXPERIENCED A NEAR MISS. I WAS FLYING MY ACFT, AN SMA, AT VFR CRUISING ALT OF 3500' MSL. AS I NEARED HOLLISTER ARPT, AND PREPARING TO DSND INTO THE TFC PATTERN, I OBSERVED A CIVILIAN VERSION OF A MIL FGT AT THE SAME ALT IN MY APPROX 9:30 POS, HDG EASTERLY. I WAS HDG HDG 020 DEGS WITH CURRENT MONTEREY ALTIMETER SETTING IT REQUIRED A 2-3 'G' VERT PULL TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE ACFT WENT DIRECTLY BELOW ME W/O MANEUVERING TO AVOID THE COLLISION. THE OTHER ACFT JUST CONTINUED ON HIS FLT. I DISCONTINUED MY DSNT INTO THE TFC PATTERN AND FLEW TO REID HILLVIEW ARPT TO DROP OFF MY PAX.
