After takeoff; [we] got 'elev feel' status message. Consulted manuals then called dispatch and [maintenance]. [Maintenance] said we needed to return to departure airport. [Notified ATC of our predicament]; performed overweight landing. Touchdown normal; had arff (aircraft rescue and fire fighting) standing by to check brakes. Arff said all brake temperatures normal; taxi to gate.
