Narrative:
Was given taxi clearance to runway 14R. Unfamiliar with airport, and asked if intersection takeoff was acceptable, and I agreed. Was cleared to takeoff runway 14L and announced taking off, but I wound up taking off in the 32 direction. Confusion arose from disorientation, I should have asked for progressive taxi. And because of failure to interpret. I assumed I knew what was called for instead of thinking.

Title: PLT OF SMA TAXIES TO WRONG RWY AT IAH AND THEN PROCEEDS TO TAKE OFF IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THAT FOR WHICH HE WAS CLEARED.
