Narrative:
Aircraft X was cleared from FL230 to FL290. Subsequently a handoff was taken on aircraft Y northbound (opposite direction) of aircraft X. Controller failed to restate the new altitude assignment of FL270 after updating data block. Error was not noticed till aircraft X climbed through aircraft Y's altitude.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACFT X WAS CLRED TO FL290, RPTR HAD OPPOSITE DIRECTION TFC (ACFT Y) AT FL280. RPTR CHANGED DATA BLOCK ALT OF ACFT X TO FL270, BUT NEVER RECLRED ACFT X. LOSS STANDARD SEPARATION.
Narrative: ACFT X WAS CLRED FROM FL230 TO FL290. SUBSEQUENTLY A HDOF WAS TAKEN ON ACFT Y NBOUND (OPPOSITE DIRECTION) OF ACFT X. CTLR FAILED TO RESTATE THE NEW ALT ASSIGNMENT OF FL270 AFTER UPDATING DATA BLOCK. ERROR WAS NOT NOTICED TILL ACFT X CLBED THROUGH ACFT Y'S ALT.
