Narrative:
While doing a service check at the gate on aircraft, I was motioning to another mechanic in the captain's eat to hit the hydraulic pump so I could close the landing gear doors. The first officer raised the landing gear handle which the mechanic with her in the cockpit didn't see her do. He turned on the hydraulic pump and the aircraft fell on the fuselage. I think air crews should not be allowed on the aircraft when maintenance is working. Supplemental information from acn 150471: the first officer did noticed the mechanic outside and mistook his signals to select landing gear up. After she (first officer) selected gear up I, a few moments later, noticed the mechanic outside signalling me to turn on the hydraulic pumps (which could be mistaken for gear up). The first officer did not ask me or question his hand signals. I had previously checked the gear indication test buttons earlier in my cockpit check, and know the gear handle at that time was selected down.

Title: GEAR HANDLE ON MDT NOT MOVED TO UP POSITION DURING A MAINTENANCE CHECK PRIOR TO FLT. GEAR COLLAPSES WHEN HYDRAULIC SYSTEM IS PRESSURIZED.
Narrative: WHILE DOING A SVC CHK AT THE GATE ON ACFT, I WAS MOTIONING TO ANOTHER MECH IN THE CAPT'S EAT TO HIT THE HYD PUMP SO I COULD CLOSE THE LNDG GEAR DOORS. THE F/O RAISED THE LNDG GEAR HANDLE WHICH THE MECH WITH HER IN THE COCKPIT DIDN'T SEE HER DO. HE TURNED ON THE HYD PUMP AND THE ACFT FELL ON THE FUSELAGE. I THINK AIR CREWS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE ACFT WHEN MAINT IS WORKING. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 150471: THE F/O DID NOTICED THE MECH OUTSIDE AND MISTOOK HIS SIGNALS TO SELECT LNDG GEAR UP. AFTER SHE (F/O) SELECTED GEAR UP I, A FEW MOMENTS LATER, NOTICED THE MECH OUTSIDE SIGNALLING ME TO TURN ON THE HYD PUMPS (WHICH COULD BE MISTAKEN FOR GEAR UP). THE F/O DID NOT ASK ME OR QUESTION HIS HAND SIGNALS. I HAD PREVIOUSLY CHKED THE GEAR INDICATION TEST BUTTONS EARLIER IN MY COCKPIT CHK, AND KNOW THE GEAR HANDLE AT THAT TIME WAS SELECTED DOWN.
