Narrative:
On approach when selecting 'flaps 1' we received a le slat disagree message. Established aircraft in holding; ran the appropriate checklist; contacted flight [operations]; checked landing performance with reduced flap setting; [advised ATC] and landed uneventfully. The procedure was smoothly accomplished by using teamwork to divide duties appropriately and backing each other up to execute the QRH procedures.
