Narrative:
Vectored approach to iefd. Localizer tuned and received. Final approach vector to join given. As turning onto final approach course (ILS), signal lost. Attempted to notify approach control (120.05), no response. While setting up for VOR approach, flew through localizer near or in houston hobby approach course. Radios all check out 'ok' after landing. Houston approach gave 'receiver only' vector approach. Tower frequency transmit/receive, 'ok'.
