Narrative:

Copilot and I were flying from lga to isp VFR. We were cleared for takeoff on runway 13 (20 KT x-wind) and a heavy jet just landed on runway 22. We experienced 15-20 KT increase in airspeed on takeoff roll and airplane vibrated. We aborted the takeoff with no damage and no injuries. Told controllers that we had a faulty instrument. Departed 15 mins later. Now the FAA wants to investigate. At the time I didn't use the word 'windshear'. I told them 'faulty instrument' only. I should have mentioned windshear. There were no problems.
