Narrative:
I met with the previous flight crew and received a briefing on the status of the aircraft and was advised that the aft flaps were a deferred maintenance item. During the short turn around I preflted the aircraft and neglected to review the previous days write-ups. The actual write-up was on the foreflaps and maintenance had dmi'ed the aft flaps (which was not only inappropriate, but the foreflaps are not deferrable). I proceeded with the flight following the afm precautions and concluded the flight west/O incident. Suggestion: I now take the time, even on a short turn around, to review the past 7 days write-ups and research all dmi'ed write-ups to make sure somebody down line didn't misinterpret something.

Title: ACR MDT TOOK OFF WITHOUT COMPLYING WITH MINIMUM EQUIPMENT LIST REQUIREMENTS.
Narrative: I MET WITH THE PREVIOUS FLT CREW AND RECEIVED A BRIEFING ON THE STATUS OF THE ACFT AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE AFT FLAPS WERE A DEFERRED MAINT ITEM. DURING THE SHORT TURN AROUND I PREFLTED THE ACFT AND NEGLECTED TO REVIEW THE PREVIOUS DAYS WRITE-UPS. THE ACTUAL WRITE-UP WAS ON THE FOREFLAPS AND MAINT HAD DMI'ED THE AFT FLAPS (WHICH WAS NOT ONLY INAPPROPRIATE, BUT THE FOREFLAPS ARE NOT DEFERRABLE). I PROCEEDED WITH THE FLT FOLLOWING THE AFM PRECAUTIONS AND CONCLUDED THE FLT W/O INCIDENT. SUGGESTION: I NOW TAKE THE TIME, EVEN ON A SHORT TURN AROUND, TO REVIEW THE PAST 7 DAYS WRITE-UPS AND RESEARCH ALL DMI'ED WRITE-UPS TO MAKE SURE SOMEBODY DOWN LINE DIDN'T MISINTERPRET SOMETHING.
